Location
This map shows the location of each GSP group / DNO region in Great Britain, as well as the major transmission constraints. Please click this link for an interactive and zoomable version.
In some GSP groups, the location of a battery within the region can make a big different depending on which side of a constraint it sits:
- A battery in North of Scotland can be behind or in front of the B2 wind constraint
- A battery in North Western or Northern can be behind or in front of the B7a wind constraint
- A battery in Eastern can be either unconstrained, behind (East of) the EC5 wind constraint, behind (South of) the LE1 demand/interconnector constraint, or behind (South of) the B14 demand constraint, as seen below.
- Other GSP groups line up more closely with boundaries, although there can still be differences closer to the edge of a region. For example, part of the Southern GSP region can be behind the LE1 and B14 constraints, and part of the South Eastern GSP region can be behind the B14 constraint.
If you are unsure of which region to select for your forecast, please reference the below cheat sheet.
