v3.5 release: changes since v3.4
8th July 2025
We’ve made several key updates:
- Commodity Prices: Gas and carbon price forecasts have been refreshed. Gas prices are slightly lower short term, carbon prices are higher, and overall spreads remain stable.
- BESS CAPEX: The incremental cost for additional BESS duration has been revised downward, reflecting current industry insights.
- Standalone Solar Forecasts: We now offer standalone solar revenue forecasts, underpinned by our GB Power Price forecasts. The new service provides detailed revenue breakdowns, flexible site-specific inputs, and accurate treatment of market dynamics, including cannibalisation and negative price risk.

Standalone solar forecasts
Modo Energy's bankable GB Power Price forecasts underpin our new standalone Solar Revenue Forecast
Get a detailed view of your solar project’s monthly revenue stack - including wholesale revenue, CfD difference payments, and REGOs - as well as key performance indicators like specific yield, load factor, capture rate and price, and revenue losses due to negative pricing and clipping.
- Seamless Integration with Storage: Uses identical assumptions to our co-located Solar + BESS model, providing a consistent and unified source of truth across your revenue stack.
- Flexible Inputs: Easily integrate your data:
• Directly upload your site’s PVsyst file, or
• Provide site-specific details - latitude, longitude, azimuth, tilt, AC export limit, and DC peak - to create a bespoke, representative load-factor profile. - Cannibalisation Captured: Solar generation profiles are reordered to align with weather assumptions in our GB Power Price forecasts. This ensures that cannibalisation effects are captured, giving realistic capture rates and robust long-term revenue forecasts as the market decarbonises.
- Negative-Price Ready: CfD revenue logic accurately mirrors negative price rules, ensuring CfD negative pricing risk is captured
